Huec-on, Heuc-off

Deyo Cruxin' on Girls of Juarez

...and Johanna topping it out

Well about 5 days before her trip I got wind Deyo would be in Hueco, and made quick plans to invite myself.  We all hopped on Girls of Juarez for a send train before moving on to harder projects.  My own success was black & white.  With the exception of one problem, I flashed everything I sent, most proudly on the classics Daily Dick Dose and Paleozoic.  Much credit goes to Deyo and Johanna though, for working out the sequences ahead of my flash attempts.  Once again, I managed to go to a world-class bouldering destination and take about 5 photos.    All in all a good weekend in Hueco.  The best part was getting to see good friends.

Leaving the Pond at Sunset

Wow it's been a while.  New state, new time zone, and new boulders.  My finger is getting better and my climbing is showing it.  I'm working on some footage and I'll post it once I confirm some info, but I'm hesitant to claim what would be my most notable ascent if the information is out of date....stay tuned.  For now, some Ponderosa Pictures

Setting Up

Throwing for the Finish

Megan working "The Rib"

The Practitioner is beginning to frustrate me, and with the clock ticking I can't afford to keep falling of the finish jug.  I might have to go out and make that my only problem for a few days.  But progress is progress... coming close on long term projects is always cause for celebration.

Memorial Weekend Follow-Up

Deyo insisted I post some pictures of the aftermath of me spotting Jesse Warren on the sketchy top-out of ATD memorial weekend.  Jesse fell about 10-12 ft almost directly on top of me, and I ended up breaking his fall by allowing him to surf down my shoulder and bicep.  The bruising is hard to see in the photo, but there's a serious rug-burn that is still lingering a full two weeks later.

On another note, I was lucky enough to work on Summoning Sit with Jamie Chong, whose best attempt left him falling on the last move of the problem.  Funny enough, we both recognized each other from his website, Sendage.com.  Jamie's a cool guy, doing cool things with his website, which is a much more user-friendly, much less narcissistic 8a.nu-type checklist site.  If you have a chance, and are inspired to keep track of your ticks, definitely check this site out.

A video for Deyo, who wanted to see Prime Time since she missed out on Murrin Park. I also had a bit of fun with the editing.
