Megan & I left Saturday for a long weekend's bouldering in Leavenworth. Saturday we spent projecting. I fell off the finish jug on The Practitioner, but finished Kobe Tai quickly; meanwhile, Megan had a breakthrough on Feel the Pinch. Sunday we explored an area new to us, Mountain Home Road. After a quick send of Emperor's Lightning, I nearly flashed Darth Vader, but couldn't muster the energy to get to the last hold again.
A bit tired, and trying to save some skin for Monday, we headed for some more exploration in the 2011 landslide area across from 8-mile campground. Inspired by untapped potential, we found ourselves brushing 3 inches of dirt off the top and cleaning the face of the 2nd boulder downhill from Lion's Den. A few hours of brushing later we put up four great new warmup problems, seen in this video (unfortunately our good camera died, so we had to use the lower-quality backup one). Another V-Hard line awaits just uphill, reminiscent of The Egg. I'm calling it the Stuffed Animal Project because you bear-hug the boulder. I'm excited to try it on a shadier day.
